Manage Pests and Waste Materials for Food Safety

PURPOSE

This unit standard is intended for a person working in a food handling environment who contributes to the food safety system by understanding the control of pests and waste materials within his/her work environment.

A person credited with this unit standard is able to:

• Demonstrate an understanding of pest control in a food-handling environment.
• Apply knowledge of pest control within the scope of work.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the control of waste materials in a food-handling environment.
• Apply knowledge of the control of waste materials within the scope of work.
